Controller Tester

Plug in (or pair) a controller and press any button to wake it up. Every button shows its pressure, both sticks track live, and we watch for drift automatically whenever you let go.

Connect a controller and press any button

Browsers only expose a gamepad after its first input. USB and Bluetooth controllers both work — Xbox, PlayStation, and most generic pads.

Stick drift — the stick reporting movement while untouched — is the most common controller fault: worn potentiometers or debris under the stick module send a constant phantom input. Our detector records the largest deflection seen while no button is pressed; readings persistently above 0.08 mean games will see your camera slowly wander. Small drift can be masked by raising the in-game deadzone; the real fixes are compressed air around the stick base or a stick-module replacement. Also worth checking here: trigger travel (the L2/R2 bars should sweep smoothly from 0 to 100%) and that no button registers twice per press.
